The end of the term is summing up and everthing I've said sort of comes back to the community of inquiry bit. I have often said " i dont want to beat the dead horse," but, i feel very strong about the fact that we all, future educators need each other. The realization has quickly came upon me that for the first 18 years of ones life they are subject to learn in an environment that is not always the best one for them to be in. I, like im sure everyone in this class wants maybe to be the teacher to change education for at least one student; i know i see this way. But like i have so often said before, it takes more than just me, it takes the whole of us.
I have been tested, and i love it. It has been brought to my attention that sometimes we need to make a way out of no way. This in a sense has left me wondering what else there is to learn about learning. I am desperately eager to find out.

Count em one two three..
The five "buckeye" group, me, Jacqulin, Amy, and Noama. I learned that cooking is more than what momma teaches me. Every action in cooking will be followed by another reaction; everything counts. As we where cooking Amy observed that our mixture was too "peanutbuttery." We went over what we had added to see if the adequate amount had been met, it seems we had underestimated the powdered sugars weight making our mixture with a lack of sweetness. We fixed out mix math calculation, and continued on our goal to making some "buckeyes." A lot of trial and error, different spoons, different ways of mixing, adding, weighing. We finally ended with a fairly decent product. The point of all this is that a large amount of learning took place by simply making some eatable buckeyes.
Value of a lesson plan, value of learning
We,Berea College students, came and conquered the pumpkin patch. I wondered the the value of importance in this adventure. I cant doubt that there is not some reason, i figure there was. We took a trip outside our bubble, or zone of college life and into a pumpkin patch. The point i gather was that learning takes place everywhere, not just in a class room. We came and observed, observed the pumpkins will roll given enough push and a steady decline. We as future educators need to open up to the idea that learning is more than knowledge out of a text book, knowledge is what you make it. I find the more answers i seek, the better learner i become, making learning that much easier for me.

Excuse? idk
While making my last blog it got me thinking about technology; what about it you ask? Well, I have come to the realization that technology has become a major part of our society it learning, “I know right.” The point being....In every one of my blog evaluations it has been brought to my attention that I should incorporate some pictures, but I have not adapted to the fast growing pace of our “technological world” to figure out how to do this..So, it seems I am behind in this aspect of learning..:(. Someone help me.

Cooties, how to deal

What a way to convey a message, humor. It puts a smile on your face an possible sticks in your mind better that a monotones old man talking about STD’s. I mean It’s funny, It’s……..cute. I think that this video is a beautiful way of subtly, humorously portraying a message that otherwise would go un-talked about, because people find it a touchy subject to speak of. Technology can do just that, with a little video effects, a little music and put forth a wonderful message.

Learning, ask why
I have found that in many classrooms I’ve taken part in, the teacher just…teach. They come into class murmur a simple “morning class,” proceed to give information for a test at the end of the week, and that a wrap. I have a problem with this. I like questions, I like why. I believe that’s why I use is so much. Learning is more than memorizing information. Learning, to me anyway is the personal benefit you gain. I want to know that personal gain, that’s where I apple the “why” word.
